salam alaikum,
theres a sister who is looking to get married, alhamdulillah recently shes found a suitable brother who seems to be a good muslim with good character, however her family didnt want her to take the step of loking into marriage because of culture she was supposed to sit and wait, also if she married someone her family reccomendend then he might not have been as practising as she wants her husband to be. is it lawful for a sister to be looking into marriage without the permission of her parents?
also the brother is insisting on having a meeting with her but she can not as she doesnt havee a mahram that would be willing to go with her. the brother argues that he needs to see if they will be a suitable match for eachother, also that it is permissible for the sister to choose an imam whom she trusts as her wakil if her dad or any other mahram would stop her from choosing a righteous spouse, is this correct?
please give me saheeh evidence jazakumallahu khairan.

Salam,

Hope this things mentioned above will not prevent the sister from being having a marriage contract with best choice of her, however in this condition one should be able to have contact with his/her Iman and relate the condition inwhich he find him/herself within by so doing the problem will be solved and the Iman in position will come up with solution which could help and set the victim to the right path and at the same time it would help and not to disobey the rights of the parents.

Ma'asalam.
